HANSON |
After becoming an Internationally
Certified Coach (ICP) in USA (1995), and ISCC,
Hanson discovered his passion for the game of
Hockey. Since then he; Founded AIHS,
(Association Inline Hockey Singapore) coached
and trained junior and senior teams to compete
locally, Hong Kong, New Zealand and the World
Inline Cup (Canada) bringing home medals for Singapore.
Hanson plays recreationally however, he takes
his players success seriously. "watching
the teams compete and win is the greatest, besides,
organizing tournaments, training players and being
on the bench takes all my time - how could I play
competitively" he then laughs and says, "I
would never be good enough anyway" |

Hockey
in Singapore
JUNIORS. There is around 4-6 active junior hockey teams in
Singapore. The age range is from as young as 5 up to around
14 years old. Unlike ice hockey, the junior teams here are
open age, focussed on team building and having a lot of fun
playing the game. Having said that, of course the training
is structured too.
SENIORS. There are 6-8 active mens/ladies teams playing inline
hockey in Singapore. Due to the relitive heat outdoors, Team
trainings are all conducted at the Tampines Millennium Court
in the evenings. Monday nights the SkateSports "Dragons"
train at 7-8.30pm then it's open scrimmage with players from
many teams joining in for some fun. Wednesday and Saturday
nights are open scrimmage nites so if you are keen, drop in
around 8pm, they play through till 10pm - lights out.
Notice: Hockey facilities are provided at
a nominal booking charge from Tampines Central CC however,
if there are no bookings use is on a 1st come 1st served basis.

More About SkateHOCKEY
SkateHockey is one of
the most exciting and fast-moving sports in the world. Players
work in teams with the common strategy to score goals against
the other by using combination of skating skills and team
effort. At amateur level, Inline hockey is seen as a great
social outdoor activity sometimes referred to as "Pick
up Hockey". People arrive at courts, strap on their skates
& equipment then join other players in mixed teams, as
you come you play. This is a fantastic way to make new friends,
share in passion for sports and helps strengthen relationships
between like-minded people.
The game itself is composed of many intricate
skating and game skills that can be learnt in our Hockey Training
Programs however SkateSports also offers a "Social Inline
Hockey" program which focuses on all the fun interactive
elements of Hockey whilst including basic knowledge of the
game and progressive skating and playing skills. thus providing
a safe fun activity for all.
