We are all very excited that Singapore beat Moscow and
9 other candidate cities shortlisted! "It's a real
success for Singapore sporting community. This will
put Singapore Sports on the podium, in the spot light

But Skating is not one of the sports at the YOG
however the skating fraternity is optimistic that several
events will be included in the near future!

Make A Wish
The Girls from
SkateSports got dolled up and downed the angel wings
to help raise over $3000 dollars at the Magic Moments
Event at Bugis Junction in November. Make-A-Wish®
is dedicated to the simple mission of granting heartfelt
wishes of children aged between 3 & 18 years, who
are challenged with life-threatening illnesses. SkateSports
pledge to continue support of the Charity throughout
2008.

This year SSC
are taking a more active role in the event as "organizer"
however after 3 years commitment to S&FE, there
will be no space allocated for the Hockey or Freestyle
events. SkateSports has then resigned to take up a booth
and will do all possible to expose skating to the masses!

juniors (under 12s) won 3rd place against the other
secondary School teams. All-Star 1st. DRAGONS mens team
came narrowly lost 3rd place to Monotoners 2-1. Team

Our
Skate Holiday and experiences - April May 2007.
It was great to
see Naomi (freestyle Champion) again in Sydney aftre
her trip to SG, Lourra Skated with her and the lads
from Skater
HQ, then we joined in for fun at their School
Holiday Camp (Thanks Bill). On Norfolk, around 50 kids
and several teachers including the Principal turned
out to see our FreeStyle demo and have fun playing hockey.
We have pledged to donate skates and gear to the school
and will go back to do a SkateCamp and ISCC Certification
soon. "KIORA" to all our friends in New Zealand,
we had a blast skating Mission Bay, testing out the
new SkorpionSkates
and checking out the venues where Irvine and his team
play hockey there. (Cheers guys) Pix soon....

Crew nite was a blast
again but this time with a special soft launch of the
all terrain Skorpion Skates! Everyone tried the skates
and some of the Crew found it easier than inline skates.
We also had a surprise visit who strapped on and got
down and funky with tricks and all, Naomi Grig.... Coolio!!

SkateSports lead the point score early however BenchWarmers
fought back. By half time it was 2 all and both teams
still had plenty more power in them. Some great exchanges
of fire power, passing breakouts and hard play resulted

Gordan Young (CIRILH – Referee-in-Chief and Committee
Member) conducted the program with a line up of participants
from Taiwan, China, Pakistan, Macau, and Singapore.
Especially rewarding was the on court practises and
the last training session conducted by Gord was great!
too bad a few of the new referees and Coaches couldn't
"DaHan" the heat and the pressure as such
